Grade 8 Ministry Exam Result Ethiopia 2017

Addis Ababa City Administration Education Bureau Head Dr. Zelalem Mulatu announced that 88.8% of the students who took the 2017 Grade 8 Leaving Examination in Addis Ababa City scored 50% and above and advanced to the next grade level.

(June 17/2017) The Head today gave a press conference to various government and private media outlets regarding the results of the 2017 Grade 8 Leaving Examination.

The Head indicated in his press conference that the results of the 2017 Grade 8 Leaving Examination in the city administration are improving every year, noting that 88.8% of the 70,525 students who took the examination in 2017 scored 50% and above and advanced to the next grade level.

Dr. Zelalem Ayazwe said that the city administration has contributed significantly to the success of the 2017 Grade 8 examination by paying attention to the education sector, including school meals, uniforms and other additional educational resources. He pointed out that the provision of television learning options, including remedial classes, in each school, and the coordination of stakeholders are the reasons for the success.

This year, 13 of the 20 students who scored high scores at the city level were from the Itege Menen Girls’ and Gelan Boys’ Boarding Schools, indicating that the purpose for which the boarding schools were established was successful. The head of the school pointed out in his statement that this year’s results increased from 78.9% in 2016 to 88.8%, and thanked stakeholders at all levels, including teachers, for their contributions to making the students successful.
