The Ethiopian Statistical Service (ESS) is pleased to announce a large-scale recruitment opportunity for the 2025 Economic Establishment Census (EEC) survey. ESS is hiring thousands of qualified professionals on a contract basis to support this critical national project in Addis Ababa.
Job Openings and Positions
- Data Collectors – 5,606 positions
- Field Supervisors – 785 positions
- Statisticians – 111 positions
All positions are contract-based for the 2018 fiscal year census project.
Job Descriptions and Requirements
Data Collectors
- Education: First degree in any field
- Experience: Zero years required; fresh graduates welcome
- Job Role: Collect data using tablets; work on foot in assigned census areas under Addis Ababa city administration
- Additional Requirements: Able to provide collateral and work efficiently in assigned districts
Field Supervisors
- Education: First degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Accounting, Management, Sociology, or Geography
- Experience: Minimum 2 years relevant work experience in the profession
- Job Role: Monitor data collection process using tablets; supervise field data collectors and ensure quality control
Statisticians
- Education: First degree in Statistics, Economics, Demography, Development Economics, Mathematics, Sociology, Geography, Agro Economics, GIS, or Remote Sensing
- Experience: Zero years required; fresh graduates welcome
- Job Role: Conduct census research and statistical analysis for economic organizations
