Established in 2011 G.C under Regulation No. 239/2011 of the Council of Ministers, Mattu University is strategically located in Mettu Town, Oromia Regional State—approximately 600 km southwest of Addis Ababa. With its main campus covering 165 hectares and its Bedele campus 80 hectares, the university provides a conducive environment for learning, research, and community engagement.

    • For applicants from emerging regions/pastoral areas or persons with disabilities: 2.75+ (male), 2.50+ (female).
  • Medical Doctors: Minimum CGPA 3.00, internship grade B and above, two recommendation letters.
  • Lecturers/Assistant Professors without PhD:
    • Undergraduate CGPA 3.00+ (male), 2.75+ (female).
    • Master’s CGPA 3.50+ (male), 3.35+ (female).
    • Applicants from emerging regions/pastoral areas or with disabilities may apply with slightly lower requirements.
    • Master’s thesis result: minimum B+ or equivalent.
  • PhD & Above: Must provide CV, academic credentials, and relevant documents.
