🏢 About CCRDA
The Consortium of Christian Relief and Development Associations (CCRDA) is an indigenous non-profit umbrella organization. It is a consortium of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) engaged in various development activities, including agricultural development, food security, rural and urban development, HIV/AIDS prevention, and environmental protection.
History & Mission
CCRDA was initially formed to coordinate the efforts of a few organizations responding to the humanitarian exigencies of the 1973/74 famine. Since then, it has expanded its services and membership, shifting focus from coordinating relief efforts to a broader development agenda and good governance. It serves as a forum for collective vision and action, allowing for resource mobilization and experience sharing to ensure effective and sustained impact.
What Does CCRDA Do?
Unlike other NGOs that implement programs directly, CCRDA functions as a support-providing umbrella. It provides technical, financial, and material support to development projects of its members. Key functions include:
• Capacity Building: Strengthening member organizations in leadership and organizational development.
• Information Exchange: Hosting forums, maintaining a resource center, and conducting studies.
• Policy Dialogue: Serving as a focal point for dialogue between members, the government, and development partners.
