The MOLS is therefore seeking to recruit a qualified Environmental Specialist, with proven experience and good track record, to provide effective and efficient technical expertise in implementing and monitoring the environmental, health and safety performance of the project, including the ESCP, status of preparation and implementation of environmental (and social) instruments required under the ESCP, and the ESMF, among others. The specialist will be part of the environmental and social risk management team of the National Project Coordination Unit (NPCU).
Currently, the Ministry of Labor and Skills (MoLs) is implementing the Education and Skills for Employment (EASE) Project financed by the World Bank. EASE is a national project. The project aims to improve employment outcomes of the TVET system of Ethiopia with a focus on women and marginalized groups. It focuses on practical, work-related skills to enhance employability of youth in Ethiopia while addressing skills constraints to respond
3. Duties and Responsibilities
The Project’s environmental and social (E&S) risk rating is moderate based on the overall countrywide implementation scope of the project and related environmental, social health and safety (ESHS) aspects, involving regions categorized under ESS7, the contextual and security risks, conflict impact areas, and IDP hosting regions. The Project has prepared, consulted on and disclosed E&S instruments including E&S Commitment Plan (ESCP), Stakeholder Engagement (SEP), E&S Management Framework (ESMF) (including Labor Management Procedures and Social Assessment (GBV/SEA/ SH action plan annexed), and Security Risk Assessment
