A vacancy exists in the House of Representatives
The House of Peoples Representatives of FDRE is seeking candidates for the following open posts if they are qualified and interested.
Following the July 1931 proclamation of Emperor Haile Sillassie-I’s first constitution, the first Ethiopian parliament convened on November 3, 1931. Since then, Ethiopia has formed the parliament as a political entity, however actual implementation has varied throughout governments. The purpose of this article is to describe the types of parliaments that were instituted by the three Ethiopian administrations that controlled the nation.
The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia is divided into two Federal Houses, the House of Peoples’ Representatives and the House of the Federation, as stated in Article 53 of the FDRE constitution. As a result, these Houses were founded in August 1995. The federal government’s highest authority is the House of Peoples’ Representatives. For a five-year term, representatives to the House of Peoples will be chosen from among candidates in each electoral district by a majority of the votes cast by the electorate in a direct, free, and fair election conducted by secret ballot.
